This thesis addresses the consequences of a new school choice procedure for the transition of pupils from primary education to secondary education in Amsterdam. The thesis focuses not so much on the stages in the school choice process as on the use of data that the new procedure provides for the quality and quality assurance of primary education in Amsterdam. The study covers the period between 1994 and 2001 and was conducted on the basis of four research methods. ....
