Parkinson's disease is a serious neurological disorder of the central nervous system that usually be comes apparent after the age of 55. It concerns the increased deterioration of neurons responsible for the normal functioning of the human motor system. This increased deterioration of neuron starts long before the symptoms become apparent which is after about 3/4 of the dopaminergic neurons that project to the striatum are lost.
