Biosynthesis of phenylalanine and tyrosine in the methylotrophic actinomycete amycolatopsis methanolica

(1995) Euverink, Gerrit Jan Willem

Knowledge about the phisiology of primary metabolism in actinomycetes is limited but considered important of primary or secondary metabolite overprocducing strains. An interesting group of secondary metabolites is derived from intermediates of aromatic amino acid biosynthesis or from the aromatic amino acids themselves. The aromatic amino acids are synthesized from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) and erythrose-4- phosphate (E4P) via the shikimate pahtway.
