Turbulence over forest downwind of an edge

ln this thesis an analysis is presented of the adjustment of the lowest layer of the atmosphere to the change in surface
conditions that it experiences when the wind blows from agricultural land onto and over a tall forest edge. The strong drag force which edges exert on the atmospheric flow may also play a significant role in regional surface-atmosphere exchange. A better understanding of regional exchange
is important for improving predictions of global climate change (Chapter 1)....
