Blood plasma of man and animals contains, besides functional plasma proteins like albumin, lipoproteins, immunoglobulins, and protease-inhibitors, low concentrations of enzymes that are derived from dead or leaky cells. During infections, like virus hepatitis, or after tissue injuries ( or example myocardial infarction) large quantities ofthese enzymes enter the circulation.
