In order to obtain more insight into the background of the
effects of H2S on plants, the relation between foliar deposition and metabolism of H2S was studied in the present
thesis. The effects of H2S-on sulfur metabolism were compared with those observed in leaf tissue exposed to high
levels of sulfate. Because of the strong coupling between
sulfur and nitrogen metabolism in plants, the effect of H2S
on nitrate reduction was also studied. ...
