Desired and undesired effects of antipsychotic treatment from a patients' perspective : the psychometric evaluation of a self-rating instrument

This thesis describes the development of a self-administered questionnaire by patients to systematically evaluate both desired (effectiveness) and undesirable effects (sideeffects/
tolerability) of antipsychotics, the Subjects' Response to Antipsychotics (SRA). The SRA questionnaire is designed to support clinical practice in adjusting pharmacological
treatment as well as possible to the patient, and for scientific research.
In the introduction, the development of the SRA is placed in a historical perspective.
Thereafter, the concept and the development of the questionnaire from the patients' perspective are discussed. In subsequent chapters, the reliability and validity of the questionnaire are described, as well as reports on a comparative study of similar instruments, in order to determine the place of the SRA in clinical practice and scientific research. ...
