Diagnostic and therapeutic modalitis in systemic amyloidosis

In this thesis a clinical guideline is presented with a stepwise approach of a patient with suspected amyloidosis. The value of the fat tissue aspirate for diagnosis, prognosis and evaluation after therapy is analyzed. New diagnostic and follow-up parameters are discussed and novel therapies are reviewed with focus on therapy in AL amyloidosis. Based on currently available studies in AL amyloidosis a treatment algorithm for AL amyloidosis is presented.
