Positron emission tomography (PET) is a diagnostic technique with a promising role especially in the haemato-oncology. Although its use in the management ; of malignant lymphoma seems to be established already, much about the true potential and drawbacks of FDG-PET in this disease are still unknown. The PET studies described in this thesis may help to improve the interpretation of PET results in patients with untreated or relapsed lymphoma or help the design of future PET guided clinical studies.
