Cellular resistance to adriamycin and cisplatin: the role of detoxifying systems

Adriamycin (Adr) and cisplatin (CDDP) play an important role in cancer chemotherapy. However, the frequent occurrence of resistance to these drugs represents a significant problem in the treatment of patients with cancer. A better understanding of the mechanisms involved in drug resistance may open ways to circumvent this problem and indicate possible targets for modulation of drug resistance.
